Senior Tarah Cleveland, from Menahga, Minnesota, and Senior Richard Langdeaux, from Rosebud, South Dakata, were named and crowned 2015 Valley City State University Homecoming Queen and King, during last Wednesdays’ coronation in Froemke Auditorium. The 2015 VCSU Homecoming court consisted of 12 outstanding VCSU students who are highly involved around campus.

The individuals that were nominated and selected to represents this year’s royalty court were as listed: (King nominees) Jason Nelson, Landon Freitas, Nicholas Lee, Richard Langdeaux, Mychael Bruce, Kody Wagner, (Queen nominees) Madelyn Zane, Kecia Ellison, Tarah Cleveland, Ashley Limesand, KaSaundra Peterson, and Barbara Ector. The requirements for nomination of the royalty court consist of the individual having a 2.5 GPA or higher, being a Junior or Senior in the classroom, involvement in campus and community activities, and a great representative for VCSU.

“I felt honored, it made me realize that I have impacted a lot of people hear at VCSU,” said, VCSU Homecoming Queen, Tarah Cleveland. Cleveland spends an exceptional amount of time on campus participating in multiple clubs and groups. She is the Student Senate Treasurer, Viking Ambassador Treasurer, and a Residents Assistant in the dorms. “It felt good just knowing that people wanted me to be a part of the court to represent our college,” said Cleveland.

VCSU Homecoming King, Richard Langdeaux, also stays involved with the VCSU campus life by participating in many organizations. He is currently a student assistant coach for the Vikings Cross Country team, a Student Senator, a Viking ambassador, and also a Residents Assistant in the dorms. “I am honored to represent VCSU. I feel honored that students can relate to me,” said Langdeaux.

“There were five other females up there next to me that were each more than deserving of the title,” stated Cleveland. “I have made memories that will last a lifetime.”

Saturday, October 3rd, Cleveland and Langdeaux, along with the rest of the royalty court, will be presented to the Valley City community in the VCSU 125th Anniversary Homecoming parade. The parade will take place down Valley City’s Central Ave. at 10:30 a.m.
