Dave Bass congratulating Logan Olesen.

On October 17th Valley City State University’s football team traveled to Aberdeen, South Dakota to play against Presentation college.  Vikings ended up taking the big win 24-14, but after the game one of the coaches awarded a player with the game ball.

The game ball was given to Logan Olesen who is a junior, and started for the first time on the field that day. Olesen’s position is usually a defensive lineman but a plot twist for him that day of starting was that he had to play the opposite position he is used too, offensive lineman.

“It was a great experience to get out there and show everyone what I can do, and to bring home the win was just icing on the cake.” – Olesen

Everyone on the team and coaches congratulated Olesen for the hard work he put in the game, and for taking leadership after being thrown in to play and start a position he isn’t used to.

Olesen was very shocked to have received the game ball because he mentioned that it is rare for coaches to hand one out after a game to a team player. So congratulations Logan Olesen for receiving the winning game ball and congratulations to the vikings for the big win!
